Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Research, plan, design, and administer building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials
• Consults with client to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.
• Plans schematic design of project and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
• Reviews drawings and contract documents for building contractors.
• Participates in construction contracts and conducts periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans.
• Use of computer-assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans.
• Review work with Sr. Staff to ensure applications of sound architectural practices.

Qualifications / Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.
• Five + years of experience in Design Architecture in Industrial / Manufacturing Environment.
• Professional Registration – or willingness to obtain – AIA, NCARB.
• LEED Certification – or willingness to obtain.
• Understanding of Architectural processes and principles for creation of design documents, drawings, and models.
• Understanding of applicable design standards and building codes.
• Technical knowledge of Architectural computer programs – Experienced in MS Office programs, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, and others as may be required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
