We are looking to bring on a skilled and motivated Wire Technician to join our team at Kratos. In this role, you’ll be responsible for safely and accurately building our power and control-centered product lines according to detailed designs and UL-certified standards. These products serve a wide variety of industries and are often available in a catalog or online format. As a Wire Technician, you'll work hands-on with state-of-the-art tools and technology to turn our engineering designs into high-quality finished products on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and understand complex wiring schematics and layout drawings.
  • Construct standard, custom, and semi-custom electrical control panels using hand tools and shop equipment.
  • Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to improve product quality and streamline manufacturing processes.
  • Follow established Kratos methods and training for panel construction and wiring.
  • Maintain adherence to all 5S and safety standards throughout the shop.
  • Execute electrical chassis assembly, cable construction, and mechanical integration.
  • Translate advanced schematics and models into functional, high-quality products.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts, including lean manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives.
  • Accurately track and request materials needed for production.
  • Perform inspection and testing procedures on finished products.
  • Quickly identify and communicate any issues with production or components to management.
  • Follow problem-solving protocol: Detect deviation → Stop → Identify issue → Resolve.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safety-first work environment.
  • Uphold Kratos Code Orange values in all aspects of the job.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Wire Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong ability to read and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
  • Skilled in assembling, wiring, and installing control panel components (relays, switches, fuses, breakers, etc.).
  • Familiarity with proper wire sizing, routing, and terminations for compliance and performance.
  • Capable of working with both high-voltage and low-voltage systems following safety protocols.
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, continuity testers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Experience with enclosure setup, grounding, and bonding for safety and function.
  • Basic understanding of PLCs and HMI interface integration is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and optimize control panel systems.
  • A great attitude and a desire to work collaboratively with the team.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and grow.
