SUMMARY:

Campus Support Center Curriculum Manager serves with the Senior Director of Curriculum Development and the Executive Director of Nursing to ensure the development, delivery, and evaluation of curriculum and instruction practices and to ensure quality learning by all students on Michigan Board of Nursing standards and Dorsey's College's learning goals. The Curriculum Manager serves as a member of the administrative team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise the practical and registered nurse curriculum, in collaboration with the nursing faculty.
  • Ensure curriculum adheres to accreditation, state, and national standards under the direction of the Senior Director of Curriculum Development and the Executive Director of Nursing.
  • Maintain an evidence-based curriculum that is up to date with the current nursing practices.
  • Provide opportunities for community involvement for real-life connections.
  • Develop and assess course objectives, outlines, and syllabi consistent with end-of-program student learning outcomes.
  • Recommend instructional delivery methods, to include online, classroom, and/or hybrid.
  • Assist in preparing instructional materials, class handouts, assessments, and information sheets that facilitate student learning.
  • Coordinate and facilitate curriculum review committee meetings.
  • Aid in the selection and review of textbooks and resources as needed.
  • Integrate curriculum and available resources into the learning management system.
  • Collaborate with ATI and Elsevier/HESI to analyze students' progress in coursework and assessments and make necessary adjustments to courses as needed for student success.
  • Work in conjunction with the Executive Director of Nursing to maintain the Systematic Plan of Evaluation and use data and analysis of outcomes to drive curriculum changes.
  • Assist the Campus Support Center Director of Nursing with faculty development.
  • Support the Campus Director of Nursing and faculty with delivering the curriculum with fidelity.
  • Periodically teach at the campus level (didactic, clinical, simulation labs) for development and evaluation of curriculum as implemented, and/or to meet organizational goals.
  • Periodic instructor evaluations to ensure proper facilitation of didactic and clinical courses, and simulation labs.
  • Organize, coordinate, and facilitate student simulation learning activities.
KNOWLEDGE - SKILLS - ABILITIES:
  • Must display exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as active listening; ability to communicate well with staff and students.
  • Must be able to effectively lead, motivate, and manage staff and teams.
  • Must be reliable with strong time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Must be resourceful and able to problem solve; strong initiative and solid judgment required.
  • Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Must be proficient with basic office equipment, computers, and computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Active Registered Nurse license required.
  • Bachelor's degree (BSN) required.
  • Master's degree (MSN) preferred.
  • Teaching experience at a secondary level or higher required.
  • Prior experience in teaching nursing at the practical and or associate level required.
  • As a component of orientation, teaching will be required in tandem with learning the Curriculum Manager role.
  • Simulation experience preferred.

  • Travel: Local campus and clinical facilities
  • Attend regular modular meetings.
  • May be required to work early on occasion on evenings/weekends (for campus visits, annual in-service training, accreditation maintenance and preparation)
