CASUAL POSITIONGENERAL SUMMARY:Performs Electrocardiograms in a variety of settings, which could include outpatient, the Emergency Department, and all in-house locations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: + Performs EKG services according to established procedure of the hospital.+ Maintains equipment.+ Will maintain sufficient inventory to efficiently operate the EKG services.+ Will assist with the training of new employees, student interns, and employees of other departments.+ Will promote the department by utilizing good customer service practices.+ Performs clerical duties such as computer entry, filing, recording, and mailing and reports as needed.+ Completes all test orders in EPIC to ensure appropriate charges are processed.+ Attains all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the organization’s overall mission.+ Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.+ Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens. When handling blood and/or body fluids, universal precaution procedures will be followed to minimize exposure to infectious diseases. Safety policies and procedures will be followed when using chemicals.+ Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.+ Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra-departmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:Education / Training: + High School Graduate or Equivalent.+ Completion of EKG training, either an exclusive EKG training program or as part of other educational programs.
