Our Organization and Mission:
The Florida Athletic Commission licenses and regulates professional boxing, kickboxing and mixed martial arts. The Commission is also responsible for the approval of amateur boxing, kickboxing and mixed arts sanctioning organizations.
The Work You Will Do:
Commission meeting duties: Coordinates date / time of meetings and rules workshops with Commission members, Commission councils and relevant department staff; Publishes timely meeting notices in the Florida Administrative Weekly; Assembles agenda materials, attends meetings and participates as needed, prepares and publishes meeting minutes.
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Serves as HR and public records liaison.
Communicates with other Commissions concerning licenses, federal IDs, suspensions and medical issues.
Maintains integrity of computer databases (Versa, Onbase), office files and records.
Updates Commission website with event results, FAQs, and licensing information.
Prepares and process licensure certification which includes opening the transaction in Versa, assigning cash/payments, prepares document(s), and mails document(s) to the licensee.
Initiate IT Support for accessibility, equipment / updates, and upgrades
Manage and Track Public Records Request via Gov QA
Department Safety Coordinator
Acts as event liaison between department staff, promoters, officials, participants, and OPS staff.
Review amateur sanctioning organization license applications and prepare checklists for Commission approval. Attends weigh-ins and events and serves as coordinator as needed. Prepares travel and expense reimbursement requests.
Arrange travel accommodations for OPS as requested.
Assists Executive Director with tax reconciliations of post event tax reports.
Processes refund requests and sends notices for late taxes and deficient taxes.
Performs other Commission duties as needed at the request of the Executive Director and Assistant Executive Director.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of Commission functions and licensure procedures.
Ability to work independently on recommendations and improvements to program.
Ability to interpret and apply the Florida Statutes and FL Administrative Code pertaining to the Commission.
Ability to use available technology to perform duties including computer software, hardware & data systems. Knowledge of Versa and OnBase.
Minimum Requirements :
Associates degree or
High School Diploma and 2 years work experience
Preferred :
Experience in VERSA and OnBase
Strong Administrative Skills
