• Extensive phone usage with a positive attitude and smile.
• Presents in a professional manner in the community, in person, on telephone and in written communication including times of extreme stress and when others are upset.
• The peer specialist supports all the efforts of the therapist and case manager and must be willing to travel throughout Broward county and have reliable transportation.
• Work effectively with culturally diverse groups and individuals experiencing an exacerbation of either psychiatric, substance use and/or medical symptoms, as well as experiencing a stressful situation.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and a busy office environment independently

• Graduation with a high School diploma or equivalent GED. Must have lived experience with mental health.
• If hired, Applicants must train and get a peer support specialist certificate ( 2 day training ) and a TIP training which is a 3 day training.
• Strong organizational/Time Management skills.
• Computer literate and proficiency to Internet, online applications and email.
• Bilingual a plus.
