Description Turnwell Mental Health of South Carolina seeks a motivated and dedicated
Psychiatrist to join our multi-disciplinary clinical team at our outpatient mental health clinic in Mt. Pleasant, SC. The ideal candidate will be dependable, punctual, and able to communicate professionally with clients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals. The candidate will also have extensive experience within an outpatient setting and enjoy providing direct patient care.
This position will be responsible for providing supervision and guidance to Advanced Practice Providers (nurse practitioners and/or physician assistants with a collaborative physician agreement if required) for practice, as well as general clinical mentorship and guidance. Serve as a clinical escalation point for APPs and other medical staff within the practice.
Duties And Responsibilities - Provide psychiatric supervision and administrative direction to clinical and support staff, including advanced practice practitioners.
- Conduct outpatient psychiatric evaluations, including intake assessments & follow-up assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing support for individuals with mental health conditions.
- Facilitate the ongoing interventional psychiatric treatments of TMS & Spravato, and help expand into IV Ketamine services at the practice if desired.
- Create, communicate, and carry out treatment plans with the patient.
- Complete full and appropriate documentation to support professional billing for services.
- Interpret test results to diagnose any health issues and provide feedback to patients.
- Educate and counsel patients regarding medication compliance.
- Prescribe medications when clinically necessary.
- Communicate with patients regarding diagnosis and treatment plan.
- Communicate with, and make referrals to PCPs and/or specialists, as appropriate.
- Provide services at community partnership locations.
- Maintain required licensure, certifications, and CME credits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements Education and Experience: - Must possess an active & unrestricted license to practice in South Carolina.
- Must possess an unrestricted DEA license in South Carolina.
- MD or DO degree
- Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency
- Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist
- Eligible for credentialing with all major insurance plans and to participate in Medicare.
- Excellent communication, patient relations, time management skills, and safety awareness are required.
- Experience with interventions such as TMS, Esketamine/Spravato, and IV Ketamine would be favorably considered, but not required, as on-site training is available.
- Computer literate and experienced with Electronic Medical Records.
