Position: New Graduate RN Residency

Schedule: 14 weeks starting April 7, 2025. Shifts vary.
Position Summary:
The New Graduate Program at Good Samaritan Medical Center is a 14 week program that begins April 7th for registered nurses looking to grow their career in MedSurg. New graduate nurses are hired into the institution in cohorts, and progress through nursing orientation together. New Graduates can expect individualized education with preceptors and Nursing Professional Development Specialists on their units, further enhanced with a series of educational days over the course of 14 weeks, fostering opportunity for mentorship, comradery, and experiential learning. Successful completion of the residency program would allow participants to be eligible for a staff RN position at Good Samaritan Medical Center.
The Registered Nurse provides care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from infant to elderly and is also individualized to a variety of needs specific to impairments such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, non-English speaking, and potential victims of abuse. The Registered Nurse incorporates knowledge and understanding of our commitment to patient rights, our mission vision and values into nursing practice at Good Samaritan Medical Center.
The Registered Nurse assumes full and ultimate responsibility for the quality of nursing care she/he provides to individuals and groups. Included in such responsibility is health maintenance, teaching, counseling, collaborative planning and restoration of optimal functioning and comfort or for the dignified death of those they serve. The Registered Nurse, within the parameters of his/her generic and continuing education experience, may delegate nursing acuities to other registered nurses and/or health care personnel, provided that the delegating Registered Nurse shall bear full and ultimate responsibility for the patient outcomes.
The Registered Nurse must have excellent assessment skills, clinical skills, organizational skills, and computer knowledge and charge capabilities. The Registered Nurse must be able to lift, transfer and move patients. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in the English language. Able to complete mathematical computations required to perform treatment protocols
