Job Description



The Federal Planning group of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Planner for immediate employment in the Arlington, VA or Virginia Beach, VA offices. The project planner will serve on multi-disciplinary planning projects, mainly for military installations and federal agencies. As part of the project team, the Planner will develop creative and innovative solutions to address the Federal Government’s issues.

The project planner will:
  • Compile data and conduct research in support of project delivery
  • Create innovative and informative graphics to support the planning documents
  • Play a key role in the preparation of plans
  • Write, design, and format sections of planning reports and documents
  • Produce material for project meetings and workshops
  • Participate in on-site workshops in a support role
  • Communicate effectively with the project team and manager
  • Manage discrete project tasks as required

Qualifications



Minimal Requirements :

  • BA/BS in Urban Planning or related degree plus two (2) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position
  • Professional experience using industry standard software including: ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Sketchup Pro, and Adobe Creative Suite

Qualifications

:

  • Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning or related field
  • Four (4) years of professional experience in the Urban Planning consulting industry
  • Professional experience with Federal / Military organizations, agencies or departments as a client
  • Positive outlook and can-do attitude approach to tasks and teamwork
  • Exceptional writing, research, analysis and communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to balance priorities
  • Effective problem solving and analytical skills
  • Efficient and organized worker with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Apt at developing creative and innovative graphics and project layouts
  • Ability to manage discrete project tasks as required
