Description The Department of Exercise, Sport, and Nutrition Sciences seeks a full-time faculty colleague to teach in the Exercise Science program. Teaching assignments will include freshmen through senior level courses including, but not limited to different levels of exercise physiology, nutrition/sports nutrition, as well as assisting in the continued development and growth of the major. May also be asked to teach elective courses in the curriculum within realm of expertise and interest. The successful candidate will bring a research agenda that can utilize undergraduate students, take a leadership role in the development and supervision of discipline-related fieldwork experiences (individual direct experiences and internal/external internships), advise Exercise Science majors, and be expected to take an active role in the department and campus community. Opportunities to collaborate across disciplines with both undergraduate and graduate students and faculty exist and are supported. Teaching load is typically 12-15 credit hours per semester but may vary dependent upon other duties and responsibilities. Position starts either January 1, 2025, or August 1, 2025, depending on candidate preference.
Qualifications Earned doctorate in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or closely related health sciences or related discipline required, but ABD will be considered. Strong interest and experience in teaching rehabilitative science-type coursework desired and/or the ability to teach a range of nutrition courses. ACSM's Exercise Physiologist certification and/or NSCA's CSCS certification recommended, but not required. Candidates must have a broad knowledge base in the health sciences (fitness across the life span) and commitment to teaching in a liberal arts setting. Previous college teaching experience preferred.
