The Senior Project Manager will play a pivotal role in our organization, managing the entire project life cycle from conception to completion, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role will require a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, who can navigate complex contract management and understand the nuances of the affordable housing sector.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all aspects of project management for affordable housing construction projects, including planning, coordination, and execution.
2. Manage contracts and negotiations with vendors, subcontractors, and partners to ensure the most cost-effective solutions.
3. Utilize knowledge of low-income housing tax credits to maximize project funding and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
4. Lead and manage a team of project managers and coordinators, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
5. Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members.
6. Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques to monitor the progress of the project, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders.
7. Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
8. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management in the construction industry with a focus on affordable or low-income housing.
3. Solid understanding of contract management and knowledge of low-income housing tax credits.
4. Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
5. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and partners.
6. Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
7. Proficiency in project management software tools.
8. PMI or PMP certification is a plus.
