Job Description
Position Overview: Federal Work Study students will provide supervised support to adult learners through recruitment, enrollment, assessments, and throughout their program helping students navigate challenges and barriers to reaching their goals.
Essential Functions: Communicate with students on a regular basis
Encourage students and help them navigate any challenges that may arise
Work with the Program Director on a timeline to check in with each registered student
The timeline would include the following touchpoints:
-The day before the student's class was to begin to ensure that he/she was ready and had received all pertinent information for their class
-The day after the student's first class to see if any challenges arose one week into the student's class
-One month into the student's class to see if he/she feels that the class being taken is in line with his/her goals
-One month before the end of the current session that he/she is in
-To let the student know that post-testing will be taking place
Encourage students to register for the next set of classes with LFA at the end of a session
Generate and update a progress spreadsheet with this gathered information for the
Program Director
Alert the Program Director of any challenges that the student might be experiencing and work with the Program Director to find a way to best meet the needs of that student
Qualifications/Skills: Strong communication skills
Strong time management skills
Ability to follow directions and follow through as supervised
Proficient with basic computer usage, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Refined and well-organized multi-tasking skills
Nonprofit experience preferred, but not required

Hours: - Schedule & hours are flexible between M-Th 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
